Yes, there is a fee to use the PrestoPark app. This covers the development and ongoing maintenance costs as well as the service fees incurred. Rotorua Lakes Council has set the fee at 10% of the transaction value up to a maximum fee of $0.50.

Yes, you can add multiple vehicles to your PrestoPark account. Just be sure you select the vehicle you are driving at the time when paying for parking.
You cannot change zones, but you can move to another parking space within the same zone (blue, green or Haupapa) during an active session. If you change zones, open the app and end your current session and start a new one for the new zone you have parked in. You will only be charged for the time you spent in the zone.
You will know you have successfully paid for parking when there is floating window on the main screen of the PrestoPark app with a timer counting down your remaining parking time in a small green rectangle. This window will also show the option to extend, stop or view your parking details.
Yes, PrestoPark registers your credit card with the payment provider (Windcave) who provide a token to the app that identifies it for future transactions. The PrestoPark app retains only that token. For more information on this, view the Privacy Policy on the PrestoPark app’s main menu.
Stop the transaction and start one for the correct details. You will only be charged for any time elapsed on the incorrect transaction.
The app works in six-minute increments as do the meters. This is because $0.10 is the minimum payment available for coin transactions (i.e. $0.10 is one tenth of the tariff of $1.00 per hour and therefore one tenth of an hour is six minutes). It will stop at the next six-minute interval from when you started your transaction.

You may not see receipts show up in your history until the next day. If you let a parking session expire to its end date and time without stopping it manually it will appear in your history the following day.
Parking zones are displayed by colour (blue or green and purple for the Haupapa Carpark) on the map on the home screen. If you are unsure which zone you are, and you are still standing near your vehicle you can you use the GPS button located towards the bottom of the screen in the centre. * Please note, the GPS feature will show you your phone’s location, not where your vehicle is parked.
